While abroad on pilgrimage

in Mecca and Madinah,

I had a spiritually enlightening time,

and some of the best experiences of my life.

I took the opportunity to learn more about my culture and faith,

and visit a local bookstore for some inspiration and knowledge

to inform my creative work too.

I found a plethora of books

that were in the exact niche I was looking for,

and I added them to a reading list for my next projects.

I learned that seeking knowledge is something one should do

at any given opportunity,

and especially in places where that knowledge originated from.

When we absorb knowledge,

our brains create new neural pathways,

and we are able to see the world in a new light.

As creative souls,

having this perspective shift,

and adding new perspectives to our repertoire

gives our imaginations fuel to create new things

that we woudn't have been able to create

without that knowledge.

All works of art count as forms of knowledge to dissect,

but also non-fiction works that dissect the world at large,

or human behaviour and psychology,

are sources to seek.

So go to your local library (they need the footfall),

or visit an art gallery near you,

take an escapade solely for enriching your mind,

and interpret that knowledge in your own endeavours.

Creative Update

After a two week break from practicing my craft,

I have gained innumerable sparks of inspiration

that will inform my work going forward.

I am still getting on my feet after the hiatus,

and more updates will arrive as I get the ball rolling.
